Wayne James Holsinger, 92, of Coleman passed away at home of natural causes on September 30, 2023.
Wayne was born to Clarence and Dorothy (O’Day) Holsinger in North Bradley, the middle of seven sisters. He attended the local Felix school (now located at the Sanford Historical Museum) and then graduated from Midland High. After briefly serving in the Navy during the Korean War, Wayne went to work for General Motors in Flint before joining The Dow Chemical Company. He retired from Dow Chemical after 25 years of working in the Ag Department and earning both his elevator repair and electrical license. Not being ready to enjoy the retired lifestyle, Wayne opened his own electrical company and eventually became an Electrical Inspector for Homer and Clare Country from which he finally fully retired.
Wayne loved nothing more than watching his great grandchildren’s many sporting events where each goal or point could earn them at least $1. When not spending time with his family, you could find him watching John Wayne movies or driving his big red Kubota Tractor on the property.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Faber), son Barry (Marabeth) Holsinger, daughter Tara Holsinger (Michael Stanek),
Grandchildren Brock (Deirdre) Holsinger, Manon (Dave) Ardouin, great grandchildren Brenden and Aaron Holsinger, C. Draves and Jensyn Ardouin, sisters Donna Kelly and Barbara Stevens as well as many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, son Gary Holsinger, sisters Dorothy Chase, Amy Otterman, Glenna McKamie, Christina Longstreth, Joyce Bonham and daughter-in-law Lucy Holsinger.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 7:30 pm Monday October 2, 2023 at O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., Coleman friends may call between 6pm – 8pm on Monday.
Burial will take place, at a later date, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MyMichigan Hospice or the donor’s charity of choice.
